Our coach’s corner has been running pretty much since day one of The Country Girls UK and we have covered a LOT of content!
From Game Shooting Etiquette to terminology, shooting skills and practical skills such as travelling with your gun, gun safety and much more!
So with our lovely coach Nicki having a well-deserved break in August, we thought we would put a handful of some of her hugely beneficial blogs in one handy place for you to recap, flashback, refresh and enjoy all over again!
GAME SHOOTING ETIQUETTE
Shooting etiquette is a combination of common sense, good manners and above all safety. But there are a few quirky things that fall into game shooting convention. If you are new to this world, I hope this will help for your first few days out in the field. Whether a walked up or driven day, a guest or paying your own way, I believe it is a privilege to shoot game; as such you should treat everyone, from keepers to beaters, from hosts to caterers, and even your quarry, with absolute respect.
WHAT MAKES A GREAT SHOOTING COACH?
It goes without saying a good shooting coach needs to have detailed technical knowledge of their sport and discipline, so every coach’s tool kit should include the following as a minimum:Gun safety – This is essential and a coach should never be afraid to address this in a calm and professional way, explaining why something was unsafe and the correct way to do it.
EQUIPMENT AND KIT RECOMMENDED FOR CLAY SHOOTING

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SHOOTING: PART 1
My impression is most ladies want to shoot for fun with friends, be it clays, simulated game days or game shooting. This is what it’s all about; it’s a great way to socialise and enjoy the countryside. Other ladies perhaps are competitive and want more from their shooting.
