Join Cunningshot Gundogs trainers, Emma Stevens and Adam Peace, for an immersive two-day Gundog training workshop designed for novice-level Spaniels, Retrievers, and HPRs. This event offers a comprehensive training experience focused on advancing skills, problem-solving, and building confidence in both handlers and their dogs.
To ensure a productive and controlled environment, all dogs must be comfortable off-lead (as the grounds are not fully enclosed and rich with scent) and steady to shot. Expect two jam-packed days of hands-on training, expert guidance, and the opportunity to connect with like-minded owners.
Emma and Adam have run Cunningshot Gundogs together for three years, with Emma previously leading the business for six years before that.
🐶 Adam has competed in gundog tests and trials and now works 2-3 dogs regularly on a shoot.
🐶 Emma has also competed in working tests and works 4-7 dogs throughout the shooting season, both picking up and beating from August onwards.
Together, they bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and practical training methods to help you and your dog reach the next level.
This workshop is tailored to novice-level handlers looking to build confidence in:
A variety of retrieves
Stop whistle and directional control
Steadiness and patience in the field
Problem-solving common training challenges
With plenty of time for discussion, questions, and breaks, this is a great opportunity to develop your dog’s skills while socialising with fellow handlers.
Accommodation and meals can be arranged via the group chat before the event.
To ensure you and your dog get the most out of the workshop, please bring the following:
Your Dog – Ready to train and have fun!
Slip Lead – For controlled handling during exercises.
Retrieving Items – Whatever your dog is familiar with (dummies, balls, etc.).
Whistle – Essential for recall and stop commands.
Training Treats – If you use food rewards for reinforcement.
Personal Refreshments – Water, snacks, and anything else you need to stay comfortable throughout the day.
Being well-prepared ensures both you and your dog can fully enjoy and benefit from the training experience!
