Simulated Game Day in the heart of the English Lake District

Experience the thrill of a traditional game shoot with the excitement of simulated quarry in the stunning English Lake District. This full day of shooting will put your skills to the test on a variety of carefully designed drives, offering a realistic and exhilarating challenge for both experienced guns and newcomers alike.

Each drive has been meticulously planned to replicate a real pheasant drive, with traps positioned to create a truly immersive experience. The outstanding natural topography of the Lake District provides the perfect backdrop, ensuring challenging and varied clay targets across our signature drives.

Alongside the shooting, enjoy a full day of hospitality, with delicious food and refreshments served in the field, ensuring an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

Itinerary

  • 9:00 AM – Arrival & Breakfast
    • Meet at the shoot lodge for a hot breakfast and welcome briefing
    • Safety talk and drawing of pegs
  • 10:00 AM – First Drive
    • Start the day with challenging and fast-paced clays, simulating real game
  • 11:00 AM – Refreshments in the Field
    • Pause for tea, coffee, and light bites
  • 11:30 AM – Second Drive
    • Experience a high bird simulation, testing reaction and precision
  • 12:30 PM – In-Field Lunch
    • Enjoy a hearty meal outdoors in the picturesque surroundings
  • 1:30 PM – Third Drive
    • A mix of driven and crossing birds, simulating a true game shoot
  • 2:30 PM – Final Drive
    • A fast and exhilarating flush drive to finish the day
  • 3:30 PM – Afternoon Cream Tea
    • Return to the lodge for cream tea and refreshments

Accommodation

For those looking to stay over, accommodation is a popular option on our shoots and can be arranged in the group chat before the event. Your host will help find the perfect Airbnb, making it a great opportunity to relax, get to know each other, and enjoy a meal together the night before. Local ladies are also welcome to join us for the evening meal if they fancy making a night of it! It’s the perfect way to experience a CGUK Sim Day—turning it into a full weekend of fun!

Cartridges

No plastic wads are permitted on any CGUK shoots. If you don’t have access to suitable cartridges, don’t worry—our team can provide them for you at an additional cost. Please let us know in advance if you need any.

Gun Hire

Gun hire is available throughout the day for an additional cost.

Transport

4x4s are required for this shoot. Car sharing can be arranged in the group chat before the day.

Dress Code

Smart-casual, with weather considerations. Final decisions can be discussed in the group chat before the event.

Please note: A cap, ear protection, and eye protection MUST be worn at all times while on the peg during a Simulated Game Day.
