River and Moor was founded on the back of over 25 years of experience in Fieldsports and Shoot Management. Based in Northumberland, near Hexham, you will shoot in some fantastic locations including steep banks and wide gulleys for those high pheasant drives. Their mission is to simply provide a knowledge based solution for the day in the field. Guns will be split into two teams of five and one team of six, with one team shooting and one will be loading/ stuffing and the other observing.
One slab of cartridges are included in the price.
9.30am arrival with bacon rolls, tea and coffee followed by a safety briefing.
Drive 1 – Pheasant Drive, set in the bottom of a wide gulley, birds will be launched from the top of the bank as if they were heading home to the woods.
Refreshments.
Drive 2 – Partridge and Pheasant Drive, with guns stood at the bottom of a steep bank and birds will be driven as long crossers and straight on.
Lunch and a safety briefing for the grouse drives.
Drive 3 and 4 – Grouse Drives, both drives are from butts with open views of the countryside.
Refreshments before departure.
One slab of cartridges is included in the price of the day.
Any other cartridges ladies wish to purchase can be bought from CGUK team on the day. Fibre wad only please.
Gun hire
Is available but please let us know on booking if this is required as it may be an additional charge.
Hospitality
Bacon rolls, tea and coffee on arrival. Lunch and refreshments served before drive 3 and 4. Tea and Cake before departure.
Transport
A small amount of driving is required across the farm, but only with 4×4 and good tyres. We would like to minimise the number cars around the shoot.
Smart/ casual, we like to promote the traditional shooting attire on our days however tweed is not essential. Depending on the weather this can be decided in the group chat before the event.
