Garret and Charlotte train and compete in both Field Trials and Working tests with Cocker Spaniels. Garret has represented the England Gundog team for the last two years, winning the top hunting Spaniel with a Cocker for the first time in the event’s history. In 2022 Garret qualified two dogs for the Cocker Spaniel championships, Junior and Ivy. Junior is now Field Trial Champion and Ivy won her first open with the hope to make her Field Trial Champion in 2023.
During this session for novice dogs we would like to see basic manners around people and other dogs, working comfortably with dummy’s marking well, working steadily and hunting confidently. Direct tuition will last for around 1 hour 1.5 hours then you will be taking part in a mock working test. There will be prizes for the top 4 handlers in the mini-working test.
SESSION 2 – Advanced
During this session for open dogs we would like to see manners around people and other dogs, confidence with dummy work being able to leave marked retrieves to pick a blind / memory, comfortable and steady to shot. Direct tuition will last for around 1 hour 1.5 hours then you will be taking part in a mock working test. There will be prizes for the top four handlers in the working test.
