Join us for a premium fishing experience with Marina Gibson, set in the stunning surroundings of Swinton Estate. This unique event offers the opportunity to fish both the estate’s private lake and the River Ure, providing a diverse and rewarding day on the water. With expert tuition throughout, this event is perfect for anglers of all levels, whether you’re looking to refine your casting skills, improve your watercraft, or simply enjoy a relaxing day in beautiful countryside.

As part of the experience, we will also demonstrate how to prepare your fish (gut and fillet) so participants can take their catch home to enjoy.

Itinerary – A Full Day of Fishing

📍 Location: Swinton Estate

  • 10:00 AM – Arrival & Welcome
    • Meet at Swinton Estate for an introduction to the day
    • Tea, coffee, and safety briefing
  • 10:30 AM – Morning Session: Lake Fishing
    • Guided fly fishing on the estate’s private lake
    • Tuition on casting, retrieves, and presentation
  • 1:00 PM – Lunch Break (self-arranged at the estate café or packed lunch)
  • 2:00 PM – Afternoon Session: River Ure Fishing
    • Learn river techniques, reading the water, and wading skills
    • Target wild brown trout and grayling
  • 5:30 PM – Fish Preparation Demonstration
    • Learn how to gut and fillet your fish
    • Take home your freshly caught and prepared fish
  • 6:00 PM – End of Fishing Experience & Depart for White Bear, Masham
  • Evening – Informal Dinner at The White Bear (optional, pay individually)

Accommodation

Guests will stay at The White Bear in Masham, a charming inn offering comfortable rooms and great hospitality. Instead of an overpriced formal meal, we will dine at the pub, allowing everyone to choose and pay individually, making the evening more affordable and relaxed.
