This event is truly one of a kind. We’ve partnered with Alex, known to his 70,000 YouTube subscribers as Hunter Gatherer Cooking UK, an expert in game meat and open-fire cooking techniques. Together, we’re creating an unparalleled, bespoke experience. Join us for an unforgettable day of culinary adventure, featuring a local wine tour and tasting session, plus a tour of their regenerative farm. This event combines the best of the UK countryside, offering an exceptional experience guided by experts in their fields. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to explore, taste, and learn!

Itinerary

The day will consist of:

Meeting Alex at Nempnett Pastures Farm with breakfast on arrival. He will then introduce you to Matt from Grove Game, who will run through a deer skinning demonstration and let our ladies have a go.

George, the Farmer, will then give you a tour of the farm, talk about the pasture-raised chickens, cows, their regenerative farming structure and the use of guardian dogs with their animals.

You will then head to Sutton Ridge Vineyard which is a stones throw from the farm where you will meet Luke to enjoy a wine tasting and tour of their vineyard.

Afterwards, you will return to the farm where you will join in for some hands-on venison butchery and afterward begin Ale’s famous Somerset grill, Asado experience.

This will be very hands-on, you will learn to master the Somerset Grill and the art of live-fire cooking and together you will cook an absolute feast of tomahawk steaks, chicken, lamb, venison and grilled vegetables.

The day will tend to last from 10am to 4pm

We’ll start right from the beginning with lighting the grill, and then get right into the fire control, the ember maker and the different woods and fuels that you can use.

We are aiming to have a full feast at the end of the cook where you will sit down and enjoy the food and drink.

The goal is that you learn about UK farming, enjoy some local British wine and become more confident with fire cooking and venison butchery whilst being around great company.
