Where to even begin! It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come, but The Country Girls UK has officially turned five, and what an incredible five years it’s been.
It still amazes me that it all started with a few messages on social media from women who wanted to give shooting a go and find others to head out with. Back then, I never could’ve imagined we’d be here today, a nationwide community of thousands, with events selling out in minutes and friendships that reach far beyond the field.
I’m endlessly grateful to every single one of you who’s believed in us, supported our journey, and helped keep the Country Girls’ dream alive. You’ve made this community what it is today. And to now sit here as the largest women’s countryside membership in the UK is something truly special.
Over the years, we’ve shared countless laughs and lessons. We’ve missed a few clays and hit a lot more, caught our first fish, joined our first game days, tasted our first game birds, and taken our dogs on their first shoots. We’ve even had drives named after us. From pigeons to pheasants, geese to woodcock, and yes, even the odd mischievous white pheasant, our members have experienced it all.
But it’s not just about the sport. It’s about what it represents. We’ve pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones, tried new things, and proved to ourselves just how capable we are. The friendships formed along the way go far beyond any event, and that’s what makes this community so special. It’s not just what we do, it’s how we do it. The kindness, encouragement, and passion every single one of you brings is what keeps CGUK so unique and full of heart.
In five years, we’ve seen our events and launches sell out faster than ever, our membership grow beyond anything we could’ve imagined, and we even brought home our first national award, Women’s Event Organisation of the Year 2025/2026 from the Prestige Awards.
As a community, we’ve continued to break down barriers in a world that was once very male dominated, proving that fieldsports truly are for everyone, whether you grew up surrounded by it or you’re picking up a gun or rod for the very first time.
And just look at what we’ve achieved together so far:
• We’ve published 284 blogs educating our community on all aspects of country life, including our most-read article on clay shooting terminology which alone has reached nearly 49,000 readers, together our blogs have been read over 1.5 million times.
• Our social media community now has a combined following of over 40,000 people, and our content reached over 714,000 accounts this month alone.
• Members have used their CGUK discount codes over 51,000 times with our amazing British brand partners.
• We’ve had over 7,500 event purchases through our website and welcomed 3,820 new members across the 5 years.
• Our private Facebook community has grown to 3,336 members who share advice, recipes, and memories.
• We’ve partnered with over 450 incredible grounds and venues nationwide.
• And this month, we’ll celebrate our 500th event across the UK.
Within those events:
• 97 tuition days have seen over 1,500 ladies safely learn to shoot for the first time.
• More than 800 ladies have taken part in simulated game days.
• Over 50 gundog events have run since we launched them just two years ago.
• And over 70 country pursuit days, from birds of prey and western riding to rifle range days, polo lessons, and deer butchery workshops, have brought something for everyone.
And we’re just getting started.
In 2026, we’ll be expanding even further with new experiences to help you push boundaries, learn new skills, and embrace the best of country life. For our fly fishers, you’ll be pleased to hear that fishing will officially become one of our main event categories, and even more excitingly, we’ll be hosting our first ever international trip. Think sunshine, adventure, and the trip of a lifetime.
To celebrate five incredible years, we’ve also officially launched The Country Girls UK Podcast. Our first episode is now live on Spotify and Apple, and we couldn’t be more excited for this next part of our journey. We’ve wanted to create a space that gives everyone more insight into all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and offer our listeners exclusive access to our community. Through the podcast, we’ll be introducing some of the incredible women who make CGUK so special, sharing inspiring member stories, and chatting about the amazing brands, estates, and grounds that help bring our events to life.
Most importantly, we want this podcast to connect with people on a deeper level, to celebrate real countryside women, their journeys, and the community spirit that keeps us all coming back for more. It’s raw, honest, and full of heart, and we can’t wait for you all to join us on this next adventure.
Before we look ahead, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our members. You are the heartbeat of this community. You are the reason we do what we do, and we are endlessly grateful for your energy, kindness, and support through every high, low, and new adventure.
So here’s to you, to the past five years, and to the exciting road ahead. The Country Girls UK has grown into something truly remarkable, a place where women can connect, learn, and fall in love with the countryside together, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s still to come.
