Field and Moor launched in January 2022, making traditional hand-crafted boots that are designed to stand the test of time.

Founder James has more than 30 years of experience working in footwear with a range of companies, allowing him the opportunity to travel overseas for Global Brands. The dream was to create his brand in the UK, utilising his experience and knowledge and that is exactly what he has done.

“I wanted to develop a range of Country Boots that could perform in the fields and at the same time give the owner warm feelings of emotion and pride in their choice of boots due to its fashion, style and trend appeal. Great Boots that others would give favourable comments towards and give admiring glances and ask them about even if they had only just met socially.”

In keeping with the country brand and focus, James has named each of his products after British Birds of Prey – Osprey, Marsh Harrier and Golden Eagle, with the Osprey boot being the best seller.

“Field & Moor is looking a carve a niche in providing Country Boots with character, styling & comfort as part of the package delivered by highly skilled craftspeople. Whilst also making the price points of the products offered accessible to a wider lady’s market than existing traditional competitors – without compromising quality.

“Positioned at the ladies who have an active interest in finding suitable footwear for their Country pursuits and would not look out of place when wearing around town wearing smart casual attire. I also recognise it is important that as a small business, we offer new colours in our range beyond the variations of brown, so you will see new colours coming to the market.”

“We have been working with designer Hannah Stiles whose background is classically trained through De Montford University, with a Degree in Footwear design. Her outlook is fresh & I have found her to be strong on colours, fashion trends and styling. Hannah is aware of the latest Comfort technology, able to advise of fitting and standards of workmanship on sample developments, so each of our products are made with every detail in mind.”

Since covid restrictions have been lifted, Field and Moor have begun exhibiting at key Shooting and Game Fairs throughout 2022, allowing customers to see the boots up close, try them on and see first-hand the quality. You can also find them at The Scottish Game Fair at the beginning of July.

Field and Moor also offer a bespoke service with a more tailored option on Osprey to Wider fitting customer requirements where the straps required are much wider than standard. This takes 2 months from order but allows the customer to choose from colour and lining options.

“Hearing back from customers who have discovered the brand and they are so happy with their new boots is a great feeling of satisfaction that helps me feel confident the business is on the right path. I felt there was a sufficient opportunity in the market for a new brand of Country Boot that combined craftsmanship, comfort & style to cater for customers who enjoyed Country pursuits and lifestyle.”
