About the Day
We’re opening the doors to one of our most welcoming and feel-good events of the year, a perfect opportunity for our ladies to bring along friends, partners or family members and introduce them to the brilliant world of CGUK. Whether they shoot regularly or have never stepped foot on a peg before, this day is made for sharing laughs, creating memories and enjoying the sport together in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Dovey Valley Shooting Ground was one of the very first in the UK to pioneer simulated game days, and today they hold exclusive access to the incredible Brynmelin Estate. Set between the iconic Brigands shoot of Bettws Hall and Dyfi Falls of Cambrian Birds in Mid Wales, the estate spans almost 1,000 acres of rugged hills, deep woodland and dramatic terrain. Expect everything from classic partridge and grouse-style drives to unbelievable 150m+ high birds that make standard clays look tiny in the sky. It’s spectacular, challenging and seriously good fun — especially shared with friends or family.
Itinerary
9:30am – Arrival with bacon rolls, tea & coffee. Followed by an in-depth safety briefing
First & Second Drives – A brilliant warm-up to the day
Elevenses – Drinks and nibbles in the field
Third Drive – Building the pace and energy
Lunch at the Lodge – Complete with a refreshing G&T
Fourth & Fifth Drives – Big, exciting, high-energy drives to finish
Tea & Cakes at the Lodge – The perfect end to a fantastic shared experience
Cartridges
No plastic wad on any of our CGUK shoots, please.
If you do not have access to cartridges that isn’t a problem at all. Cartridges can be provided for you by our team, please make sure you let us know beforehand as this will be an additional cost.
Gun hire
Is available but please let us know on booking if this is required as it may be an additional charge.
Transport
4x4s are required however, this can be organised within the group chat before the event.
Hospitality
You will be well looked after, with elevenses set in the most idyllic scenery. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea provided, along with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day.
Dress code
Smart/ casual but most importantly, comfortable and practical. Depending on the weather this can be decided in the group chat before the event.
Please note: A cap, ear protection, and eye protection MUST be worn at all times while on the peg during a Simulated Game Day.
