About the shoot:
The prestigious Ystad Bodorgan Estate (Bodorgan Estate) located on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, offers high-quality driven game shooting. Renowned for its challenging coastal topography and fast birds, the estate is features private holiday accommodations like farmhouses and converted windmills.
The Bodorgan Estate is one of the oldest land holdings on Anglesey. This longevity has provided the opportunity to shape, protect and enhance many of the special areas that exist today in South-West Anglesey.
At its core the Estate is and has always been a farming estate and alongside its own farming operations has made land available to local farming families for generations.
The Estate is also a locally important housing provider.
Over the years the Estate has broadened its activities to include renewable energy, tourism and leisure and a growing number of commercial properties.
The Estate employs a significant number of local people and Welsh remains the working language of a number of the Estate’s teams.
The Bodorgan Estate is an exclusive privately owned estate which presents some of the best quality reared driven game. Having been in the same family for over 500 years, this historic shoot offers breathtaking coastal views and a truly an exceptional day of shooting on the South-Western coast of Anglesey. Our expertly organised drives offer something for everyone; our gamekeepers can cater your bag to suit your shooting style and requirements.
Itinerary
Your day begins in one of the elegant country houses which are owned by the Estate with fresh coffee and a warm welcome from your gamekeeper, who will guide you through the day’s plan and a safety briefing. After two expertly organised drives you’ll enjoy a short field break with elevenses before continuing with the afternoon drives. When the bag is reached, you’ll return to base to enjoy a delicious two course home-cooked late lunch followed by a few drinks in the lounge. This is where the gamekeeper will join you for the final bag count and the issue of game cards.
Our experienced and highly skilled gamekeepers can arrange for tuition upon request.

The grand, yet homely manor, Trieorwerth House, will be the base for your shoot day and the ideal accommodation choice for your girl’s weekend. Hidden in ancient woodlands on our private estate, this listed manor house is the perfect place to reconnect with yourself, with nature and with the women beside you. Light filled interiors, rambling gardens, crackling fireplaces and endless sky provide the perfect back drop for wellness retreats, yoga weekends, and other soul-restoring activities that can be arranged by the estate upon request. Perfect for a post-shoot day unwind. On-site catering can also be arranged upon request. We will arrange this in the group chat before the event.
Cartridges
We kindly ask that no plastic wads are used on any of our CGUK shoots. If you don’t have access to suitable cartridges, don’t worry, our team can provide them for you.
All empty cartridges will be collected on the day and either recycled or repurposed for artistic use.
Instructor
If you’d like a qualified shooting instructor on the peg with you, we can arrange this at an additional cost. Just let us know at the time of booking so we can get everything organised in advance.
Transport
Please note that a 4×4 vehicle will be required for this shoot. If you don’t have access to one, don’t worry — car sharing can easily be arranged within the group.
Dress Code
We love to see traditional shooting attire on our game days, but don’t worry — tweed isn’t a must. Final outfit plans can be discussed in the group chat closer to the day, depending on the weather.
Accommodation
Group accommodation can be arranged and will be discussed in the group ahead of the event.
