Spend a day with both Cunningshot Gundogs trainers Emma Stevens and Adam Peace as we work through all things retriever. From straight lines to handling and obstacles, we have a jam-packed training day for you.
Emma and Adam have collectively run Cunningshot Gundogs for 3 years now with Emma previously running it on her own for 6 years before this.
Adam has competed in gundog tests and trials before and now works 2-3 dogs regularly on a shoot.
Emma has also competed in working tests and regularly works 4-7 dogs picking up and beating on shoots from August onwards.
This workshop aims to bring a variety of retriever owners collectively together for an unmissable workshop of advancing skills and socialising with like-minded people. The sessions will run in manageable blocks from 8:30 am through to 4 pm with time to problem solve and work through issues as well as ask questions and have those much-needed breaks to socialise with other members.
We have 6 novice places available and 6 intermediate/advanced places available.
Must have basic foundational gundog skills. Must be able to work in a group without severe behavioral issues. Recall is essential, 70-80% steady around other dogs we can use this training day to polish that final bit. We aim to work on proofing straight lines, introducing some obstacles, working on advancing steadiness, hunting and handling.
Must have a good level of gundog foundations, off-lead steadiness will be expected and a reasonably reliable stop whistle. We aim to work on more advanced retrieves with blinds, handling and distance.
