Enjoy a unique weekend experience combining ethical field-to-fork learning in the great outdoors. The weekend includes a warm welcome and relaxed evening together, a full day of deer skinning, butchery and outdoor cookery on the beautiful Chatton Estate, and a peaceful half-day canoeing adventure on the River Tweed. It’s the perfect blend of practical skills, sustainability and memorable moments with like-minded women.
Day 1: Arrival & Welcome
Arrival at Accommodation (PM)
Settle into your accommodation and meet the rest of the group. Depending on arrival times, we’ll either head out for an evening meal together or enjoy a relaxed dinner at the accommodation. It’s a great chance to unwind and ease into the weekend.
Once final numbers are confirmed, we’ll organise accommodation for both Friday and Saturday nights for anyone who wishes to stay. This is completely optional and not included in the event price.
Day 2: Deer Skinning, Butchery & Cookery
Saturday 22nd August 2026
Chatton Estate, Northumberland
Step into the world of ethical field-to-fork dining with an immersive butchery experience set in tranquil Northumberland woodland. Guided by experienced hunters and butchers, you’ll work through each stage of the process with practical, hands-on learning.
What You’ll Learn:

✔️ Butchery – breaking down a carcass into usable cuts
✔️ Cutting skills – preparing venison safely and effectively
✔️ Knife safety – handling, sharpening and maintenance
✔️ Outdoor cooking – preparing and cooking venison in the field
✔️ Hide preservation – caring for and repurposing the hide
This is a true field-to-table experience, giving you practical skills and a deeper understanding of sustainable wild food.
Lunch included, featuring freshly cooked venison dishes.

Day 3: Half-Day Canoeing Experience

River Tweed
After an action-packed butchery day, we slow the pace with a half-day canoeing adventure. Starting from Norham, we’ll paddle downstream towards Berwick (weather and river conditions permitting).
Led by an experienced guide, this peaceful journey is a chance to take in beautiful Northumberland scenery, reconnect with nature and enjoy a relaxed yet rewarding morning on the water.
