Sporting Situation is a family-run business that has been running for several years across many different scales of shooting. In more recent years they have developed into a mentor lead introduction to game shooting business. Their days are aimed at those wanting to take the next step in their sporting journey in a safe and welcoming environment, extremely similar to The CGUK. All our ladies that purchase a peg on this day will be supervised by a professional mentor for each drive taking away all pressures that are natural to a novice game gun. The shoot lends itself to the natural topography of Yorkshire with the ability to drive partridges fast over low woodland or pheasants and ducks off high hilltops, this shoot has it all and can prepare our ladies for their game shooting journeys going forwards. The day will include full hospitality with light nibbles at elevenses and venison burgers at lunch with refreshment throughout. All guns must have a valid shotgun license and valid insurance for this day.
9 am (prompt) – Meet at the farm – in the shoot shed for tea/coffee and a bacon sandwich
9.30 to 10.30 am – Extended safety briefing and a thorough talk regarding the layout of the day
10.30 – 13:30 pm – 2 mixed pheasant and partidge drives with mentors
13:30 – 14:00 pm – Lunch (either in the field or back at HQ weather dependent)
14.00 – 16.00 pm – 1 further mixed pheasant and partridge drive followed by 1 duck drive with mentors
Once guns have finished shooting we will return to the shooting shed to enjoy refreshments and pheasant burgers, the shoot hosts at this point will go through the game preparation process, outlining everything guns need to be able to take birds home in the feather and produce an incredible meal.
Guns are encouraged to take as much game home as they like.
No plastic wad on any of our CGUK shoots, please.
If you do not have access to cartridges that isn’t a problem at all.
Cartridges can be provided for you by our team, please make sure you let us know beforehand as this will be an additional cost.
Is available but please let us know on booking if this is required as it may be an additional charge.
A Gun bus is provided for all guns on the day.
This day includes full hospitality. Bacon sandwiches
Smart/ casual, we like to promote the traditional shooting attire on our days however tweed is not essential. Depending on the weather this can be decided in the group chat before the event.
