Situated in Yorkshire’s Finest moors, on the grounds of a former Victorian shooting Lodge, Simulated Game, clay pigeon and walked up shooting (during season) for all abilities is offered at West Nab Shooting Lodge, West nab Shooting Lodge offers a selection of simulated days, all set in over 100 acres of stunning grouse moorland based on the outskirts of Huddersfield right at the edge of the Peak District National Park. Set in an ideal shooting landscape with spectacular scenery, Our Simulated Game Days offer parties from 6 to 24 guns an unforgettable experience, with a mixture of both Bowman and Promatic game traps, Drives consist of Duck, Pigeon, Grouse, Partridge, and high Pheasant, test your shooting skills with the nearest you will come to a driven game shoot.
The day begins at 9.30 with guests meeting for breakfast to enjoy a breakfast roll or two, sourced locally within proximity of the location, a selection of teas, and coffee or orange juice. Once breakfast is finished the shoot host will discuss the day and explain all the safety features, We then set out for the first of two drives, after which we head back to the main house for a fabulous locally sourced elevenses and a well-deserved drink, we then return to the field for two more drives and conclude the day with a locally sourced lunch and drinks.
We run each of the drives twice so one guest will shoot and the other will load, then switch ensuring everyone is involved throughout the day. You can expect each gun to shoot around 300+ cartridges a day…. Even more if you’re eager to poach!
No plastic wad on any of our CGUK shoots, please.
If you do not have access to cartridges that isn’t a problem at all. Cartridges can be provided for you by our team, please make sure you let us know beforehand as this will be an additional cost.

Drives are close to the main area, walking is easy for all drives with our vast topography surrounding the main building, 6-seat buggies are driven by our team and are available for gun & cartridge carrying, and people with slightly limited mobility.
This day includes full hospitality. Breakfast, elevenses, Lunch, snacks throughout, all drinks included on the day
Smart/ casual but most importantly, comfortable and practical. Depending on the weather this can be decided in the group chat before the event.
