We’ve put together a short list of things to remember ahead of the game season, and good ideas of items to take with you on the day! We’ve also included some handy links too!
1.
Take a spare warm jumper and clean shoes for lunch or for the journey home in case you get soggy during the day!
2.
Make sure you have waterproof jackets and trousers at the ready for those rainy days (let’s face it…this is England!)
3.
Remember to bring cash for tips at the end of the day. (If you are unsure of how much to tip, watch our game season prep video from Curtis at BASC on the link below)
4.
Don’t ever worry about asking for advice on anything! If in doubt…ask!!
5.
Don’t forget to bring your ear defenders! Ear protection is paramount!!
6.
Be sure to have comfortable footwear – you WILL be walking lots!
Check out our Marketplace brands over on the link below to get your hands on a new pair with a lovely CGUK discount!
7.
Get your gun serviced before the season starts to avoid any dangerous or disappointing issues!!
8.
Read over some of our Coach’s Corner blogs to refresh, re-learn and remind yourself of what to expect, how to shoot safely and the etiquette of the day.
9.
If you are going into the game season with your working dog, be sure to remember to pack fresh drinking water for them so you don’t get caught short. Get yourself a foldable drinking bowl for them to save some space!
10.
Finally, and most importantly, make sure that you are confident with all aspects of gun safety. From safely removing your gun from the sleeve to standing correctly on a muddy surface, we have bags of content for you to go through to ensure you are more than prepared and ready to enjoy your season safely.
