A working test training day with the prolific cumbrian dog trainer Fran Ardley. Fran is the owner of Tarncrag Gundogs and has been training professionally for over 15 years specialising in Spaniels and Labradors. Fran is well known for trialing her spaniels, with her recent success making a young Cocker bitch up to Field Trial Champion and competing in two Cocker Spaniel championships gaining a Diploma of Merit in both. When not trialing Fran is out on the grouse moors or pheasant shoots picking up.
During this day you will cover the basic aspects of working tests for both Retrievers and Spaniels. This will be in a simulated shooting environment, working on marked and blind retrieves hunting your dogs through cover and over obstacles all in a calm efficient manner.
Basic requirements From each dog and handler are a good recall, be confident picking dummies, comfortable with gunshot and a basic level of steadiness.

This day will be split into two session, Spaniels in the morning and Retrievers in the afternoon

9am prompt meet for a brief and overview of the day with fran.
9.30am in field training
11.30am working test competition to put the morning training into practice
12.30pm Finish for refreshments and prize giving
