The South West Shooting School is a Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) Premier Ground open to everyone, whatever their age or ability. The School is situated in an idyllic, secluded Devon valley a short distance from Ilfracombe, and offers an unsurpassed shooting experience. Shooting stands are out of the wind, facing down-sun, and traps feature high-driven and cross-driven ‘birds’, allowing an unparalleled combination of shooting patterns.
9:30am Arrive on site, guns are welcomed with tea, coffee
9:45am In-depth safety briefing from the head instructor, then separating into four
groups of four and meet the instructors for a further safety brief within smaller
groups.
10:00am Head out for the first twenty-five cartridges with instruction in their groups.
11:30am Congregate back at the clubhouse for half an hour break including tea, coffee
and biscuits.
12:00pm Back out to the grounds for another twenty-five-target instructed lesson.
1:00pm Lunch. Served with tea, coffee, water and orange juice all being served.
2:00pm – One hour of clay shooting in small groups – 50-bird competition
3.30pm Coffee & tea served and the prize giving.
Cartridges are included throughout this day at no extra cost.
If ladies wish to bring their own guns, cartridges will be provided for 12 and 20-bore but no other.
Gun hire is included throughout this day at no extra cost
If ladies wish to bring their own guns they can do so.
All areas can be walked around the shoot so socially distanced rules can be followed.
Smart/ casual but most importantly practical and comfortable, depending on the weather this can be decided in the group chat before the event.
