About
A training session set in a very picturesque part of south Cumbria overlooking Lake Windermere. Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival. Matt will give a little talk on himself his training, background and dogs also touching on the plan for the day. Both Advanced and Novice training sessions will meet for lunch at The Swan between sessions 1 and 2 allowing our women to connect and meet more like-minded women.
Itinerary
SESSION 1 – NOVICE
Handlers and dogs will be expected to have manners around other dogs and people, a strong recall, basic heal work skills and basic commands (sit/ stay) and to have started basic dummy work.
There will be a small prize given at the end of the session for the most improved handler.
- 8:45 Prompt Meet at Cunswick for coffee and brief from Matt
- 9:00- In-field training
- 11:30- finish training and an opportunity to ask any questions
- 12:00- Depart to The Swan hotel for lunch
- 13.30 depart the Swan Hotel for home
SESSION 2 – ADVANCED
Handlers and dogs will be expected to have manners around other dogs and people, a strong recall, have good heal work skills and a good sit/stay, be confident with dummy work including a good delivery, happy with gunshots, and be comfortable working in the water.
In this session you will be working on steadiness work, long retrieves, water retrieves and a trial scenario.
There will be a small prize given at the end of the session for the most improved handler.
