Ben Wyvis, Munro climb Social Meet

Everyone welcome, dogs allowed, Munro hike with the option of lunch at the summit and dinner afterwards.

A Whatsapp group will be created before the event date so ladies know where to meet and get exact directions to the car park if not familiar.  Ben Wyvis is an isolated, huge and bulky Munro, rising like an elephant from the lower moors of Easter ross.  Ben wyvis is a well known Munro and has fabulous views at the top on a clear day of Torridon, Black isle and Easter ross.  Easy ascent on paths through the forest initially followed by much steeper ground on the path ascending to An Cabar. Ladies are welcome to take their dogs as long as they have full control of the dogs as there will be many other walkers and dogs on the route.  The carpark is easy to access and if full there is another long layby 2km away from the main carpark that will have plenty space.

Itinerary 

Meet at 10am (starting time can be arranged in group chat, an earlier or later start may suit those travelling from a long way)

The full route is 14km (8.75miles) and on the walk highlands website recommends it’ll take between 4.5-5.5 hours.

Recommend ladies to bring a back pack with lunch, refreshments and also refreshments for their dogs if they’re bringing them as it’s a long trek and may be hot if we’re lucky enough to have sunshine on this date.

Be prepared and have extra clothes with you in your rucksack too as at the top of the hill it can be much colder than when you first started. Only go as far as you feel comfortable doing and by making sure you have the right footwear on will make the hike more enjoyable.

At the end of the hike, ladies can depart at their own leisure and if anyone would like to go for a meal, the Aultguish Inn is 5 miles north of the carpark which is a 7 minute drive or for those going south then in Contin there is a dog friendly hotel, 11miles – 17minute drive, Coul House Hotel which serves amazing meals.
