Experience a Day’s Shooting on the Historic Orchard Wyndham Estate
As our ladies had such an incredible day here last season we are back here again for the second year!!
Nestled in the rolling hills of West Somerset, on the edge of Exmoor National Park, lies the stunning Orchard Wyndham Estate, a privately owned gem steeped in heritage and natural beauty.
Spanning over 3,500 acres of unspoiled countryside, deep valleys, ancient woodland, and open farmland, the estate offers a truly memorable setting for a day’s shooting. With easy access from the M5, it’s a convenient escape into one of Somerset’s most picturesque landscapes, an area long celebrated for its top-quality sport.
Expect a variety of sport, with well-presented pheasants flying from woodland and cover crops and the chance of the occasional English partridge. Being on the border of Exmoor, we’re proud to stand alongside some of the country’s most renowned estates for quality shooting.
A Typical Day
8:30 AM – Arrival, tea & coffee, and breakfast baps
9:00 AM – Welcome briefing and head out
Mid-morning – Break after 2 drives with drinks and refreshments
Throughout the day – A relaxed pace with refreshments after each drive, plenty of opportunity to enjoy the countryside and camaraderie
Whether you’re looking for an affordable introduction to driven game shooting or simply a great day out with friends, Orchard Wyndham offers the perfect blend of sport, scenery, and hospitality.
As this is full pegs – you will need to be a shotgun license holder.
Gun hire
Is available but please let us know on booking if this is required as it may be an additional charge – You will need to be a shotgun licence holder for this shoot.
Cartridges
We kindly ask that no plastic wads are used on any of our CGUK shoots. If you don’t have access to suitable cartridges, don’t worry, our team can provide them for you.
All empty cartridges will be collected on the day and either recycled or repurposed for artistic use.
Instructor
If you’d like a qualified shooting instructor on the peg with you, we can arrange this at an additional cost. Just let us know at the time of booking so we can get everything organised in advance.
Transport
There is a gun bus on this shoot.
Dress Code
We love to see traditional shooting attire on our game days, but don’t worry — tweed isn’t a must. Final outfit plans can be discussed in the group chat closer to the day, depending on the weather.
Accommodation
Group accommodation can be arranged and will be discussed in the group ahead of the event.
